Noon Chai (commonly in hindi Namkeen Chai) or Pink Tea is famous beverage in Thathri. The people of villages who works in Thathri starts their morning in Thathri with the pink tea in the Noon Chai hotels of Thathri. When the morning starts in Thathri after the muslim prayer a huge crowd of people traffic rushed slowly in the market and mostly Noon Chai hotels. The hotels became fully booked till 10:00am. After the people starts there work in their own field. The "Noon Chai" (noon-salt, chai-tea) is a part of Kashmiri culture to drink this beverage 2−3 times a day with traditional Kashmiri breads and pastries like lavasa, sheermaal, kandir tchot, bakarkhani and kulcha.Noon chai is traditionally made from special tea leaves, milk, salt, and cooked in a samavar. A pinch of baking soda is added to help give it more of a pronounced pink color. A recent variant preparation of this tea also includes sugar but it is not traditionally consumed in Kashmir. This famous tea have the taste which the people use it like the habitat or you can say it is used like smoking cigrates.
